Kings of Leon - Superpages.com Center - Dallas, TX - 9.23.10

On Monday afternoon, I received an e-mail from Deidre that went something like: "Kings of Leon are playing in Dallas on Thursday.. wouldn't it be fun to be there?" My instantaneous reply was, "Let's do it."

Wednesday at 10PM, we were off on our road trip. We made it all the way down to Springfield, Il before crashing for about 4 hours. On Thursday, we spent the entire rest of the day making our way down to Dallas.

We got to the venue at about 9PM just as the Black Keys were ending. By the time we were sitting in our seats, the concert started.

KOL put on a great show. Caleb said he was struggling a little with a hoarse voice, but you couldn't tell. The band was amazing, and even in good spirits because their family was attending the show as well.

After the show, we drove back to a small town in Oklahoma to crash for the night. By Friday night, we were back home in our beds. The whole trip was over 2,000 miles and we completed it in 36 hours. It was the perfect way to end summer and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Once a Kings of Leon date was announced for 2010, Deidre and I jumped at the chance to see them again. We picked the first date that was announced (even though a New Jersey show was posted later on), and we bought tickets. We decided to road trip to upstate New York to see the show.

This was the first chance to hear the new songs from "Come Around Sundown".

The show was great. Their new stage set-up was gorgeous and all the new songs were fantastic, which just made us more anxious and excited for the release of their new album in October.

Kings of Leon - Mid-America Center - Council Bluffs, IA - 10.12.09

After seeing the Bradley Center show in the end of September, we knew we had to see Kings of Leon one more time before this leg of the tour ended. We decided about a week before the concert, to see them in Iowa.

We stopped to see a concert in Madison the night before, and then headed down to Iowa. We drove as far as we could before needing to sleep which led us to Iowa City, IA. The next morning, we finished the rest of the drive.

We luckily got to the venue a couple hours early and noticed a few people lined up outside so they could be front row. We decided to join them even though it was a very chilly 40 degrees.

After waiting 3 or 4 hours, we finally got in. It was 100% worth it. Seeing the band perform that close was unreal. It just increased our love for them. :)

Kings of Leon - Bradley Center - 9.26.09

Seeing Kings of Leon in my hometown was a dream come true. Not only was it a completely different environment from Lollapalooza, but being able to see the complete stage was insane. Their stage presence not only by the members of the band, but the incredible light show and screens behind them were phenomenal. It just enhanced their performance.

I saw it with a couple friends, and as I found myself getting more comfortable with their older songs, I kept saying "This songs my favorite!" and "I love this song too!" The best part is they mixed up their play list so we got to hear a very different concert than what we heard from Lollapalooza.

Kings of Leon - Lollapalooza - Chicago, Ill - 8.7.09

After completely falling in love with the album "Only By the Night" right after hearing the song "Sex on Fire", I knew I had to see Kings of Leon live. The first chance was Lollapalooza in Chicago. Not only did they not disappoint, but they opened a whole new door of incredible for me. Their new stuff sounded fantastic, but I instantaneously went to buy their older albums after the concert. Even though their albums are so different, the older ones leaning way more southern rock, they each have their own charm and I have completely fallen in love with each one.

My favorite part of the concert was they didn't end their set with the well known songs. They played a deeper cut on an older album.. in this case, it was Black Thumbnail.

I personally think that Kings of Leon blew all the other performers at Lolla out of the water.

Fantastic show!
